In pretty much all of the upper Midwest and Canada as well, ice fishing is a long held tradition. Each year our deep ponds and lakes are scattered with ice shanties of all shapes, sizes and designs. The folks who are putting on the CycloCross Nationals in Madison want to bring this tradition to the great winter race.
Area individuals as well as businesses are taking place in the competition. Word in the local bike world is that the crew over at Planet Bike have something awesome brewing. Saris/Cycle Ops isn’t taking the challenge lightly and will be trying to pull out all of the stops.
If you think you have what it takes to create the best shanty in the land, check out the Cross Nationals blog for more details! A word from the wise, good beer and bacon are always good tools of persuasion for the judges 😉
